We have been learning about the properties of sound. There were so many fun experiments to try! This is a website that helps you understand what sound would look like if you could see it. We are using this website as review for the concepts we have already learned.
Have fun exploring!

Exploring About Sound
As we begin our new unit on sound, we've looked into questions like "Why did God create sound?" and "What kind of sounds can we hear?" We've determined a number of reasons for God's wonderful creation: the ability to communicate, the enjoyment of nature, and the precautions we can make for safety. There are dozens of reasons sound is a benefit to humanity.
In this website, there are a number of videos discussing how people use sounds in their jobs and in every day life.
In the second website, there are some "listening" sound games that show how well we have to listen in order to hear some of the sounds around us.
These websites are just a glimpse of what we are learning. We sure are enjoying the experiments in class!
Things on a Ship
We are beginning our Social Studies unit on Explorers and are quite excited to "explore" ourselves! Before we begin our reports, we've decided to do some background investigating as to what the explorers might have used for navigation and sailing. The http://www.cccoe.net/lifeatsea/student/shipparts.htm website has a great layout of what the ship looks like and it defines the different parts of the ship with what they are used for. Take a look!

Word Choice Presentation
Word Choice -- Our new writing tool of the month. We are learning how to use a wide range of vocabulary. To begin this unit, we should look into how many words we can use to describe one object. We did this in class and then we looked into how to present our work. The website www.wordle.net works well to publish our work! Take a look!
